Small Print Competition – for fun and learning.
This is an informal event, and judged by members.
There are 3 themes for this competition:- Street Photography and/or
Light & Shadow and/or
At Water's Edge
Members are encouraged to enter by submitting a maximum of 3 prints. Colour, monochrome or a mixture of both would be acceptable.
Maximum size of each print is restricted to A4 including mount, but the prints do not have to be mounted.
Each print must be given a title which should be marked on the back of the print or card, but no other identifier should show.
Each print will be judged individually.
The prints, together with an appropriate entry form, should be handed in to the Competition Secretary – dates as indicated on the Syllabus.
On the evening of the competition the prints are displayed around the walls. Members present on the evening choose their top 5 prints & within these indicate their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices.
After voting has been completed, the prints are then given a critique by one of the club's senior members. The scores added and a winner decided.
No prints which have been entered in any previous club trophy competitions whether print or digital form will be accepted.
Please Note: - No trophy will be presented and the results will not count towards any other Club competition. There might be a small prize for the winner on the night.
It's a Knock-out Competition – full of surprises.
In this informal competition, the images are paired up and voted for by the members present in the evening. The winning image of each pair goes through to the next round till eventually we end up with the best two images competing in the final.
Each member may provide up to 5 digital projected images which are then entered into the draw.
The projected images must be submitted in digital format as a JPEG file not exceeding 1920 pixels in width x 1080 pixels in height, on a memory stick or a CD.
All entries must be clearly marked with the image title.
The images should be handed in to the Competition Secretary – dates as indicated on the Syllabus.
The images are arranged in alphabetical order of the title and shown in pairs in sequence. For
example “A Bird in the Hand” might be paired with “Anemone – Wild Swan”. It is advisable to
spread the titles of your own entries across the alphabet to avoid knocking your self out.
Please Note: - No trophy will be presented and the results will not count towards any other Club
competition. If you are lucky, there might be a small prize for the winner on the night.
